Our Vestry

The Vestry is the governing board of the parish and consists of the Rector, the Wardens and lay members. The Vestry at Holy Spirit comprises 12 members elected from the parish, plus the Treasurer and Rector.


Each year at our Annual Meeting in late January, the congregation elects new members for three-year terms. Once in place, the vestry annually selects a Senior Warden and Junior Warden to serve as Vestry leaders. Our list of current Vestry members. 


The Rector preside at meetings of the Vestry which handle the parish's business and temporal matters. Additionally, the Vestry serves as a council of advice for the Co-Rectors. As its primary responsibility, the Vestry oversees the parish's financial health. In partnership with the co-rectors, it develops and approves the annual parish budget. The Vestry also serves as an advisory council to the co-rectors who by church law are the parish's chief liturgical and pastoral officers. Our Vestry By-Laws.

When does the Vestry meet?

The Vestry meetings take place on the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall (unless otherwise noted), and the meetings are always open to all members of the parish. Vestry agendas and approved minutes can be on the next tab and are posted on the Vestry bulletin board in the Parish Hall.
