Women’s Group: Living Our Faith Together

Looking for a space to reflect, connect, and grow in faith with other women? Come join the Practicalities of Faith group, a welcoming circle led by Julie Benson, where heartfelt conversation and spiritual companionship flourish. Whether you’re navigating life’s joys or challenges, this group offers a gentle place to share, listen, and explore how faith shapes our everyday experiences.
All women are welcome —bring a friend, bring your questions, and come just as you are. No preparation needed, just a spirit open to connection.

Halloween Pumpkin Carving & Potluck Party
Sunday, October 18 • Parish Hall
Carving begins at 4:00 PM • Dinner at 5:30 PM
Get ready for a frightfully fun evening of creativity, community, and delicious food! Holy Spirit will provide the pumpkins—just bring your carving tools and your most ghostly, ghastly, or goofy jack-o’-lantern ideas.
After the carving, we’ll gather for a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish to share and enjoy the festive spirit with friends of all ages.
Prizes will be awarded for standout pumpkins!
Costumes are welcome (but not required)—come as you are or as someone else!

Hellgate Alms Sunday
Sunday, October 18
Each fall, familiar Hellgate students remind us how closely connected we are as neighbors. From A’Lisa Scott’s lively encouragement as a proud 1977 graduate to celebrating Sawyer’s first day of high school, Holy Spirit’s ties to Hellgate run deep.
We’ve welcomed students into our Parish Hall to learn about our ministries, and many of the young people we see in our courtyard or parking lot may be those supported through the Family Resource Center, driver’s ed scholarships, or sponsored laundry loads at Sparkle Laundry. These small connections show how our ministries ripple outward in ways we don’t always see.
Join us on Hellgate High School Alms Sunday, October 18, as we learn more about our neighbors’ lives and needs, and consider how our time, talents, and treasure can continue to support them.
Join us for our next Community Concerns Evening "Health or Hype?"
Wednesday, October 28 • 7 p.m. • Parish Hall
Join us for an engaging evening with Heather Voorhees, PhD, Associate Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Montana.
With so many wellness influencers, supplements, miracle cures and breakthroughs begging for our attention every day, it can be hard to understand what is legitimate and what should be ignored. In “Health or Hype? Thinking Critically About Health (mis)Information,” Heather will explore how to recognize health mis-, mal-, and dis‑information, why it spreads, and how we can respond thoughtfully and respectfully with friends and loved ones. (Hint: it’s not because people are lacking common sense.) All are welcome to this timely and practical conversation.
Parking Lot Cleanup
Saturday, October 31 • 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Join us for a fall morning of fellowship and fresh air as we tidy up the plantings around the church parking lot. From trimming bushes to pulling weeds and hauling debris, there’s plenty to do—and no special gardening skills required!
We’ll gather at 9:00 a.m. and wrap up by noon. If you have rakes, loppers, clippers, or gloves, please bring them along. An additional truck would be a huge help for hauling—if you can bring one, let us know!
Come lend a hand, enjoy the company of fellow parishioners, and help keep our grounds looking beautiful. All ages welcome—there’s a job for everyone!

We’re celebrating grace – the boundless love of God, given to us through Jesus, as we look to the
future at Holy Spirit. Signs of grace are everywhere, including the arrival of Father Nate Darville
as our new rector. It’s a time of excitement and new possibilities.
Your support helps Holy Spirit build community, belonging and life-giving faith.
Your support brings us engaging worship and music that build on our traditions, with a
commitment to openness, dialogue and being present as God’s people in the world.

It's Holiday Market Time!

Holiday Market is on its way, and we are again asking you to think about what you can donate to this year's event. Do you have any Antique or Vintage items, Holiday Decorations, Handcrafted items, Art for the Gallery, Jewelry, or "Regiftables" (accompanying boxes especially treasured) for our now famous Gift Shop.
This year we are also hoping you'll look to your own creative skills as well. What do you or
others in your family make that would be fun additions to the handcrafted items at this year's
market?
You have plenty of time to get busy on your projects as Market dates are Friday and Saturday,
November 13 and 14. (We will begin accepting donations for three days beginning Sunday,
November 8.) Sign-up tables for volunteers and answering questions will be after church on
Sundays October 25, November 1 and November 8. In the meantime, please contact Sue

Holy Spirit's Holiday Market has made a wonderful name for itself in Missoula because of you,
and we mustn't let those customers down. Your efforts in any of the many ways you can
participate will again assure a most magical event.
