"Babette's Feast" and the Theology of Food: a movie and discussion with Valerie Hess

Join us Sunday afternoon, January 11th beginning at 3:30 PM in the Parish Hall. We will talk about the theological (and political) implications of food and food production and then watch the movie, "Babette's Feast." This 1987 movie is based on a story by Isak Dineson and won an Oscar for best foreign film.

NOTE: this movie has subtitles so bring the correct glasses! Popcorn will be served and feel free to bring any other movie snacks you prefer. Also, additional resources will be available to purchase for $5.00.

After the movie, which is less than 2 hours long, we will have a short discussion about the themes in the movie.

As we continue our focus on issues of food and food insecurity as a parish, join us for a discussion on a side of the issue not often mentioned. Questions? Contact Valerie Hess
