Holy Baptism
Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body the Church. Baptism takes place during the Easter Vigil service (Saturday evening, March or April), and at a Sunday service about three times a year: the Day of Pentecost (May or June), the Sunday after All Saints' Day (early November), and the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (first Sunday after Epiphany, early January). Baptism may also take place when the bishop visits (in December this year) and on a Sunday during the summer on a date to be determined. If you are interested in Baptism for yourself or for your child, preparation needs to take place. Please contact the office to speak with our rector, the Rev. Terri Ann Grotzinger.
The next date for Baptism will be at our All Saints' celebration on Sunday, November 5, at the 10:15 a.m. service. If you are interested in baptism at that time, either for yourself or for your child, please call the church office at 406-542-2167 and ask to speak to Rev. Gretchen. If you are interested in the Sunday after All Saints' Day baptism date, Rev. Gretchen needs to hear from you by October 8.
The remaining date for baptism for this year is the Sunday when the bishop visits (December 3).
Confirmation
Confirmation classes are offered for youth (usually grades 7-8) in a two-year cycle. For adults who wish to be confirmed, we offer an Inquirers' Class. Please contact the rector, the Rev. Terri Ann Grotzinger, about preparation for Confirmation. Confirmation takes place during a Sunday service at the time of the bishop's visitation, as scheduled by the diocesan office, usually in February or March.
