BACK‑TO‑SCHOOL CLOTHING PROJECT: SOCKS & UNDERWEAR NEEDED
Have you priced children’s socks and underwear lately? Even these basics can be a real strain for families with multiple children. Once again this summer, Holy Spirit parishioners can help by donating new packages of socks and underwear to the Gary Turbak Memorial Back to School Clothing Project, organized by our neighbors at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Social service agencies in Missoula provide St. Paul’s with the names of local families who have children ages 4–13. In late August, the families are invited to a specially set‑up “store” in St. Paul’s basement, where new clothing is arranged by size and gender. Last year, about 500 children each received a new pair of jeans, a top, shoes, and a full package of new socks and underwear — and that’s where Holy Spirit and other churches come in.
From Sunday, July 12, through Sunday, July 26, a bin will be in the church vestibule to collect your donations of new packages of socks and underwear for children ages 4–13. A second bin will be available on the porch outside the church office for weekday drop‑offs.
