Alms Sunday - Watershed Navigation Center

A New Chapter in a Long Partnership

We are excited to welcome Charles "Chaz" Rourke to our next Alms Sunday service on August 23. Rourke serves as manager of Missoula's Watershed Navigation Cetner. The center, which opened in September 2025, offers housing support, medical care and job resources for unhoused individuals and families and for those transitioning out of the criminal justice system. Partnership Health Center oversees this critically important work in our community.

It was just over 23 years ago, in June of 2003, that Holy Spirit began what would become a fruitful 15-year relationship with Partnership Health Center, the local medical and dental clinic serving low-income clients. At its peak, three dozen parishioners were involved in some facet of the clinic's work. Nobody envisioned what lay ahead when we first learned about the clinic's needs.

Chaz Rourke has been with PHC for 13 years. While at PHC, he earned his bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration. Before joining PHC, he served as a combat medic in the U.S. Army.

Chaz will be joined on the 23rd by Rebecca (Becca) Goe, chief innovations officer at PHC. In that post, she oversees grants, strategic initiatives, new programs and community partnerships that help expand access to care and improve community health in Missoula County. She holds masters degrees in Sociology and Public Health.

Come join us on Sunday, August 23, to learn about PHC's newest initiative to help some of Missoula's neediest residents. Longtime HSP parishioners may remember when then Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori preached at Holy Spirit on Sept. 27, 2009, and recognized our outreach work at PHC. In her sermon she praised and challenged us, "Can you reach out, even through your fear?" We look forward to what surprises may lie ahead.
