August 13th - Diocesan Council meeting, 6:30 p.m.
August 18th - Standing Committee meeting, 12:00 p.m.
September 1st - 3rd - Clergy Conference via Zoom
September 7th - Office closed for Labor Day

Dog Days

In the late summer, the Episcopal church seemingly winds down in the heat and weather.  Bishops tend to disappear for vacation.  Parishioners run off for last chance vacations.  Other clergy will even try to take a break and rest.  It is the dog days of summer for the northern hemisphere where heat and weather take its toll on everyone and everything.  But I assure you that even when people are taking breaks, the clergy, lay employees and lay leaders can’t quite do it.  September looms with its restarting of school, including Sunday school.  Topics need to be selected, materials obtained and, most important of all, volunteers must be identified and trained.  At least that is how it used to be.  (Click below to continue reading.)
