7 pm Meaningful Movie

Tuesday, May 29, 2018, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Back by popular demand, the HSP “Meaningful Movies” series enters its 2nd season. The kick-off film, on Tuesday, May 29, will be Like Any Other Kid, which premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival last February. Directed by Victoria Mills, the movie “follows the relationships between incarcerated youth and staff in three secure facilities across the country. As staff provide the basics of love, guidance, and structure, the youth transform before our eyes because of strong bonds they form with staff members.” Sponsored by the Social Concerns Committee, Like Any Other Kid builds on what we learned from The New Jim Crow book study and the Restorative Justice and Reintegration Panels of this past fall and winter. Wine and cheese will be served beginning at 6:30; the film will be shown at 7. Please join us.
