Join us for Family Worship on Sunday, September 11!
Join other families for our specially designed Family Worship Service on Sunday, September 11 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. here at Holy Spirit. This is a time for children (of all ages!) to worship together with their parents. You can expect lots of movement, kid music, a Bible lesson that pertains to kids and adults and a snack. Put it on your calendar now and plan to join us!
Come for music, movement and connection at our Family Worship this Sunday at 4:30 p.m. We'll have a Bible lesson prepped for big and little audiences, plus a shortened Communion, a game or craft, and a snack. See you there!
Kids and Worship
Integrating children into worship is gaining momentum as a way to welcome families and kids into our Episcopal life. This approach makes sense for Holy Spirit as we also gain momentum after the stop-and-start days of the pandemic.
So now we’re offering regular children’s sermons – moments we believe appeal to more than just kids – and we’ll be working to involve children in other aspects of the service. This can range from carrying the Gospel book in the procession to assisting ushers and carrying the cross. The idea: Kids learn best by emulating adults and benefit from being with all of us in the worship experience.
Katie Nederhoed, Karen Gartner, Meredith Mehne and Rev. Dorcie Dvarshkis, along with Rev. Gretchen Strohmaier, are the team focused on kids’ offerings. The goal is to help everyone participate authentically in our worship service.
