May 5 at 8 PM: Compline considers Easter in the light of Spring

A dry-rooted, winter-twisted oak Revealed itself slowly. And one morning
When the valley underneath was still sleeping
It shook itself and was all green.
(from "Spring Oak" by Galway Kinnell)

As springtime settles into our days, we consider the promise of Easter in all around us. The meditations of the evening will center on poems on the season of spring and renewal. The choral offerings will include Vaughan Williams' "The Call," as well as John Rutter's setting of St. Patrick's Breastplate.
