Act with Mercy and Compassion
The Vestry is listening to our parish and our community. In their recent retreat they began to envision the year ahead and they came to believe that this year, 2025, is a year to intentionally Act with Mercy and Compassion. We do this because our baptismal covenant calls us to respect the dignity of every human being. We do this because it is the path of love, humility, and kindness that Jesus modeled for us. We do this because it is vital for the welfare of our community that is struggling with loss, confusion, fear and uncertainty. We do this because we need to. We need a positive focus and a constructive place to invest our energy.
The Vestry invites you, as the Body of Christ, to consider how we might act with mercy and compassion together in our community this year. Join us for worship on Sunday May 11th as we will kick off this year-long theme and then Sunday May 18th as we learn about three different organizations in our community that we could potentially adopt over the coming year. The Missoula Food Bank, Soft Landing, or the Housing Advocate Network. The Vestry asks that you come on these two Sundays in May, watch the Spirited Times for details and share your thoughts about which organization may be the best fit for us. We are looking for opportunities to volunteer together at one of these organizations, ways we might help leverage support for these organizations within the broader community and related themes for study that we might explore within the parish over the coming year.
