Tour the CSKT Bison Range on May 31

Are you ready for another Creation Care adventure? Join us on May 31 as we venture to the CSKT Bison Range. We will gather at Holy Spirit's parking lot to carpool and leave at 9:00 am. The education and outreach director for the Bison Range will meet us at the visitor center at 10:00 am. She will share the history of the range and the role it played in restocking bison from the population lows of the late 1800s. We will learn about the changes that have occurred at the range since management has been passed from the US Fish and Wildlife Service to the confederated tribes. We will also learn about the close relationship Montana's Indigenous people have with the bison.

After our time at the visitor center, we will drive the Red Sleep Mountain loop to see what wildlife is out and about. Potential sightings include a variety of birds, Mule and White-Tailed Deer, Pronghorn Antelope, Coyotes, Black Bear, Elk, and of course Bison. There should be several young bison, or "red dogs" at that time. Cars that drive the loop will need to purchase a pass.

After the drive, we can all have a picnic lunch at the picnic area. We should be back at the church by midafternoon. To help us plan, please register for the trip by contacting the church office 406-542-2167 or Warren Gartner 317-872-2431 or .
