Active Incident Training, 6:30 pm

Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Join us for Active Incident Training on May 27
We all gather together here at Holy Spirit for worship, weddings, funerals, celebrations, etc. We all come together with the assumption that we are in a safe place. We want to be welcoming, we want our doors to be open, we want folks to hear the choir, we want folks to wander in and find a warm, loving community. We do not want to be cloistered, a fortress to outsiders but it is our openness that makes us vulnerable to disruptive individuals.
The Active Incident committee has been working for a number of years to develop a plan to make us both open and welcoming, but prepared to maintain the Church as a safe place for us to gather.
On Tuesday, May 27 at 6:30 we will have a presentation by Lydia Arnold with the MPD that will provide us knowledge and an action plan to assist us to be prepared for unforeseen occurrences, might they be an intruder, a heart attack, a fire, whatever might put one or more of us in jeopardy. This is the first step in our Active Incident plan.
The more prepared we are, the more likely we can mitigate any damages. Please put this very important date on your calendar; the more of us who are prepared the better the outcome. Please join us so that we truly be our brothers' and sisters' keeper.
