The Jesus persona held by the majority of Christians is most probably a composite of favorite sayings, incidents remembered from sermons and Sunday School; and glimpses of religious art. In our imagination we unconsciously blend the mystical Jesus of John, Matthew’s Rabbinic Jesus, Luke’s Divine Man and the restless prophet of Mark.

Join us for four weeks this Fall as we explore St. Mark, the first gospel written and the prototype for the other three. Here we discover a Jesus vividly portrayed as a fiery preacher and bearer of a revolutionary kingdom where hunger, blindness, disease and death are overcome. Here we will find the promise of a blessed place in time and beyond only possible through the grace of God, confrontative love and radical self-giving as seen in the life of this Jesus from the  nowhere town of Nazareth. Bring yourself, your Bible and a friend.
