Plenty Coups' Story: A Model for Spiritual Wisdom and Healing

To all of you who are interested in this class, there have been some changes. Because the lessons in this class are so pertinent to the situation we all find ourselves in these days, it was decided that we would make this class available online now at the church YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/cha…/UCD4gRWYgdsv6PvkObRwijKQ/videos.

The sessions will each be about 30 minutes and will allow time for answering questions or allowing comments that resulted from the previous session. These questions can be directed to me via email at or by text at 239-7346. At the present time, the classes will be available on a schedule consistent with the Spirited Times, meaning that the link to the new class will be posted on Thursday when the Spirited Times comes out. I look forward to being with all of you, even if it is not face-to-face, sharing the guidance of Plenty Coups, engaging the wisdom of our Holy Spirit community in this interesting discussion, and being together while we stay apart. I would also encourage all of you to view a documentary film about a buffalo project on the Ft. Peck Reservation. You can watch the documentary on YouTube, just search for Buffalo Unity Project.

The sessions will be lecture format as we learn about Plenty Coups' story, based on the book, Radical Hope by Jonathan Lear. During these sessions we will explore Plenty Coups' experience and his divinely inspired leadership that resulted from the destruction of the Crow Culture: "When the buffalo went away the hearts of my people fell to the ground and they could not lift them up again.” The group will think about questions such as: What is culture? What happens when culture faces destruction or corrosion? How does Plenty Coups offer a way out of anxiety? How can we learn from his wisdom and apply it right now in 2020? If you have questions, contact Glenn at .
